Farming the Future believes that agriculture is one of the most truly enriching fields for learning. Seeing plants grow from seed to their edible end product is a wonderful and empowering experience for students. Agriculture teaches science by connecting with chemistry, physics, biology and engineering in units that go far beyond just planting seeds. 

Gardens have been proven to affect change in a wide variety of fields including overall health. Integrating gardens with core STEM concepts and comprehensive lessons has the potential to improve both academic achievement and social emotional learning. Studies have shown that including gardens in the learning environment supports:

  • Enhanced overall academic achievement in K-12 settings, including grades and test scores.
  • Increases engagement and positive attitudes about learning.
  • Improved knowledge, attitudes and behaviors regarding food literacy, nutrition, healthy behaviors, as well as increased fruit and vegetable consumption.

Middle School Distance Learning Program

Farming The Future’s DLP is a flagship program consisting of a digital platform for an entire year’s curriculum. The curriculum includes biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, and earth/space science all connected to agriculture through activities and experiments that can be done at home with all student materials included. The DLP gives online access for students to lessons created by world class experts and educators. Contains weekly assessments and support for parents/guardians including digital grading and online tech support.

Tabletop Learning Laboratory

The Tabletop Learning Laboratory provides students an opportunity to grow microgreens on any table at home. The included activities allow students to experiment on energy, chemical and physical changes, and many other topics. The unit covers twelve NGSS standards in physical science, chemistry, life science, and engineering.

Raised Garden Unit

The Raised Garden program is designed to get learners growing inside and out. Integrating NGSS standards with the STEM enrichment curriculum and everything you need to grow a successful garden in a compact space. Bring the Farm to Table connection into your home. Create a growing outdoor classroom in as little as a 5’ x 5’ area as a standalone garden or as part of a larger backyard garden.

Grow Bag Labs

The Grow Bag Labs give students the opportunity to grow various different sets of plants that will end up as a product that the whole family can enjoy. Choose between the salsa, pesto, or tea garden grow bags to have the materials needed to learn agriculture while growing to enjoy these edible treats. Choose the pollinator grow bag and bring colorful insects into your garden or right outside the door.

Ultimate Microgreens Kit

Welcome to the wonderful world of growing your own delicious, nutritious, and beautiful microgreens. Growing microgreen is a great way to add extra flavor as well as vitamins and minerals to your meals. Students will love growing them too as they learn the basic principles of agriculture in small indoor gardens that will yield delicious and nutritious crops.
